IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report Arrives
Last month (September 23-27, 2013), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) met in Stockholm, Sweden, to finalize the first part of IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report (AR5). The latest report is a result of four years of work by a total of 831 authors and review editors, from different countries. AR5 presents scientific evidence for climate change and its causes, assesses the influence of human activity on the climate system, and looks at projections of future climate change. The report builds on past IPCC reports, dating back to 1988, but is updated with scientific literature published since 2007 (the year of the last IPCC report, AR4).
