The United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health and McMaster University will be hosting an Award Ceremony and wine and cheese reception for the graduating Water Without Borders students, faculty and supporters. We hope you will be able to join us in the awards ceremony and in welcoming the new students for the 2014-2015 year.
In addition, distinguished lectures will be presented on Climate, Water and Society. Whether through extreme events or sea-level rise, many of the impacts of climate change are delivered by water. The challenges are complex, and the need for science to inform decision-making has never been greater. This distinguished lecture hosts leading practitioners in Canada and the US to learn lessons from the frontlines of efforts to respond to climate change.

2014 Spring Public Lecture. Talk by Dr. Gordon McBean.
Come join the McMaster Centre for Climate Change at McMaster Innovation Park for a public lecture by Dr. Gordon McBean. Come and celebrate World Water Day with us! UNU-INWEH’s March Another Drop panel event, World Water Day: The Water-Energy Nexus: From Global to Local, will focus on the water-energy nexus and linkages to food security and health issues. As the “bottom billion” continue to urgently need access to water, electricity, sanitation and food, understanding the interlinkages and synergies between water and energy to alleviate poverty should be a priority.
Dr. Emma Quillerou (UNU-INWEH), Mr. Michael Theodoulou (Anaergia Inc.), and Mr. Dan McKinnon (City of Hamilton) will draw from examples from across the world to illustrate these linkages. This panel event will be held on Tuesday March 18th, 2014 at 7:00pm in conference room 1 A/B at McMaster Innovation Park.
The event is free and refreshments will be served. For more information see the flyer attached or visit http://inweh.unu.edu/another-drop/. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to see you there!
